Bento de Goes sång #1 – “Jesuiternas sång”

I wrote this song as part of a spex which has so far never been either finished or performed. However, I did get to hear this particular song performed at a revue in 2009, which makes it the first properly public performance of a song I have written.

It is the introduction song of the Jesuits — Xavier and Bento de Goes — who will later in the spex be traveling to Central Asia looking for the wonderful, mystical land of Cathay. In reality, Bento died just before he reached the Chinese border, and never found out that China and Cathay was the same place.
